North Parade, which historically was renowned for being a bastion of elegant private shops had until the last several years withered over time and allowed itself to become un-iconic with some buildings left derelict.
Quality shops have since exited the scene and other lesser retail entities have entered.
Nav and Hass, as directors of Locate, began a search to base their new headquarters within Central Bradford. As regular customers of the now defunct ‘Montague’s’ sandwich bar they quickly identified the dilapidated building of 29/31 North Parade as a cornerstone and attractive building left in decay. Within weeks, they had an offer accepted for the building and their main focus was to redevelop it to bring it back to its former glory, and position it as a landmark building within North Parade’s ‘Independent Quarter’.
North Parade is quickly becoming the ‘Hipster District’ within Bradford with the location of a dominant number of Microbreweries, to include The Peacock Bar, The Sparrow and The Beer House, just to name a few. It also boasts a collection thriving of service sector offices as well as hosting both the Pakistani and Indian Consulates.
The brothers sought out local architects ‘Fine Line Construction’ to develop their vision for the site in late 2015 and formal plans were passed by Bradford MDC in mid 2016. Nav and Hass are both proud Bradfordians’; they have a passion for their City and its renaissance and wanted their new office to incorporate this tradition. After a tender process, ’Abrahams and Carlisle Ltd’, were quickly identified as the team for the project. As one of Bradford’s long established joinery technicians, keeping the vision for the development local was pivotal.
To the brothers’ surprise, there have been obstacles and reluctance on a local level as to supporting this vital regeneration project, one which further enhances and echoes the strong entrepreneurial spirit ‘alive’ within Bradford.
The new HQ at 29/31 North Parade is to be the cornerstone and epitome of their trade. This new property will be a benchmark and act as the catalyst to LocateHomes future business growth within the sphere of sales, lettings and property management. The two phase redevelopment also incorporates the upper floors within the 7 Northgate entrance which has been converted into four fully furnished, smart media enabled one bedroom apartments.
Continuing to put their faith in Bradford’s revival, the brother’s have already recruited additional, staff at their current premises as a sign of their true commitment to harnessing their business. Once they are available to move into the newly refurbished offices they aspire to engage further persons to work within their bourgeoning empire. It is currently the vogue to talk about ‘Brexit’, but as far as the brothers are concerned,
‘Bradford means Bradford’ and restoring North Parade to the “Timeless” Luxury it once was is further gaining ground with this imminent switch.
